Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Ankur Maheshwary, founder, Masti Zone, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
When I’m not knee-deep in work, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my family. There’s nothing better than spending quality time with the people who mean the most to me. It’s my ultimate recharge—a perfect way to balance my busy life. Those moments of peace and laughter? Priceless.
How do you spend your weekends?
Weekends are all about hitting the reset button! I like to stay active, so you’ll catch me playing cricket or shooting hoops on the basketball court. And yes, the gym is my second home—I’m all about keeping fit. Staying physically active keeps my body in check and my mind sharp, so I’m always ready to crush the week ahead.
What are your favorite gadgets?
Ah, my smartphone—my trusty sidekick! I’m a tech enthusiast through and through, especially when it comes to the latest AI apps and gadgets. It’s amazing how tech can make life easier, from organizing my day to leveling up productivity. Staying ahead of the curve is both fun and practical!
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I hadn’t found my calling in the business world, I would’ve gone pro in sports. Cricket, football, athletics — you name it. There’s something about the discipline, teamwork, and thrill of competition that’s always inspired me. Being a sportsperson would’ve been the dream!
Which is your favorite vacation spot?
Barcelona, hands down! Not only did I get to study there, but the city’s blend of rich culture, jaw-dropping architecture, and endless energy never gets old. Whether it’s wandering through historic streets or chilling on its gorgeous beaches, Barcelona is the perfect mix of relaxation and inspiration.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching.
For a good laugh, The Kapil Sharma Show never fails to entertain, while Shark Tank feeds my entrepreneurial brain with fresh ideas. As for movies, The Pursuit of Happyness is a go-to when I need a boost of motivation—it’s all about grit and never giving up. And let’s not forget Nike’s Just Do It campaign. Simple, powerful, and endlessly inspiring — it always gives me that extra push to go for it, both in sports and in life.
