The Job
The most fulfilling aspect of my role is having the opportunity to shape our company’s direction and create something meaningful for and from India. Working with dedicated teams to build a future-facing brand and business relevant to consumer culture with a tech-first approach is incredibly satisfying. Witnessing our vision come to life and seeing our businesses including Bombay Shaving Company, Bombae and 100Days grow and succeed is a source of immense pride. We operate in large categories that have been unchallenged for years, and building homegrown Indian brands challenging global giants is the best part.

The Weekdays
Weekdays tend to be quite busy for me as I juggle work and quality time with my two adorable daughters, who are still quite young and full of curiosity. The younger one is just two years old, while the older one is seven. One thing I don’t like to miss despite the madness of weekdays is my health routine.

The Weekend
On weekends, I aim to maximise quality time with my family and carve out a bit of personal time. It’s a balance between family bonding and activities like visiting relatives and diving into a good book. A fulfilling weekend not only enriches my life but also sets a positive tone for the upcoming work week. I make it a point to meet at least one of my old connections in family or friends during the weekend.

The Toys
While I wouldn’t call myself a tech enthusiast, I do find technology genuinely captivating and thought-provoking. It’s becoming increasingly intertwined with our lives, and it may be already happening. Nowadays, discussions about bots and AI are quite common, and I’ve been closely following developments in this field for both personal and professional reasons. In terms of specific gadgets, my phone (OnePlus), Kindle, and the sophisticated craftsmanship of the Marshall are my best friends. Additionally, enjoying my favourite music on Spotify throughout the week is a great way to relax and recharge. Technology is undoubtedly shaping our future, and I’m eager to see how it continues to evolve and impact our lives.

The Logos
I admire brands that have consistently delivered on promise, user experience, and value over time; while being relevant to changing consumer and cultural trends through periodic disruptions. Some brands that have done this well are Apple, Nike, Tesla, Wechat/Tencent, Amazon, and in India — Tata group. Times are changing fast and staying relevant over decades by many of these brands is nothing short of inspiring.
