89% people are looking forward to the upcoming festive season with 71% expressing plans to shop online, revealed a report by Amazon India.  The survey indicates a growing consumer confidence, with nearly 50% of respondents intending to spend more on online festive shopping compared to the previous year. From what is understood, this trend is reflected across metro areas, where 55% plan to increase their spending, and in tier-2 cities with populations between 10 and 40 lakh, where 43% of respondents reported similar intentions.

The study highlights convenience as a key factor driving customer sentiment towards online shopping events, with 76% of respondents valuing the ability to shop remotely at any time. 74% respondents cite speedy delivery at scale, 75% state trust in online events to provide genuine products and 75% said  affordable payment options, such as no-cost EMI are the significant factors influencing online shopping during festive reasons.

“The essence of India’s festival season is deeply rooted in traditions, cultures, and the emotions they evoke. The months leading up to the festivities are significant as many major shopping explorations and purchase decisions occur during this time. This period also presents an opportunity for us to delight customers with vast selection, great value coupled with highly trusted and seamless shopping experience which reflects evolving customer preferences,” Saurabh Srivastava, vice president, category leadership, Amazon India, said.

73% respondents expressed trust in Amazon for their festive shopping needs, revealed the report. Among those surveyed, 75% associated Amazon India with a wide selection of products, 72% believed sellers on the platform offer attractive deals, and 73% regarded Amazon as a reliable and trustworthy online shopping destination.
