Private sector bank CSB Bank announced that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the reappointment of Pralay Mondal as the managing director and CEO of the Bank for a period of three years with effect from September 15, 2025.
In a regulatory filing, CSB Bank said, “…we wish to inform you that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) vide letter dated June 12, 2025, has conveyed its approval in terms of Section 35B of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, for reappointment of Mr. Pralay Mondal as Managing Director & CEO of the Bank for a period of three (3) years with effect from September 15, 2025.”
The Bank will now seek shareholder approval for the reappointment within the timeframe mandated under the Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI Listing Regulations.
Pralay Mondal joined CSB Bank in September 2020 after serving as the head of retail banking at Axis Bank. At CSB, he initially took on the role of President overseeing retail, SME, operations, and IT, before being promoted to Deputy Managing Director in February 2022.
He had been the Bank’s interim MD and CEO since April 2022. He has earlier worked with companies like Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Wipro InfoTech and Colgate Palmolive.
Shares of CSB Bank were down 1.97 per cent at 9:40 am today at a trading price of Rs 381.30.
