In view of Republic Day, several airlines, including IndiGo, Air India and Spicejet, have issued travel advisory for the passengers traveling to and from Delhi. In the advisory, the airlines have emphasised that the travelers must take into account potential delays by allowing extra time for their commute to Delhi’s IGI Airport and stay updated on flight statuses before leaving ther houses.

“As we prepare for the 76th Republic Day celebrations, your comfort and convenience remain our top priorities. Due to increased security measures at all airports, we kindly ask for your cooperation with airport teams during frisking and other checks. Please plan for extra time and arrive a little earlier than usual to avoid any last-minute rush, as formalities may take slightly longer than usual,” IndiGo said in a post on X. 

“Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated as we work together to ensure a smooth, hassle-free travel experience for all,” the airline added. 

Furthermore, Air India and Spicejet also took it to their social media to inform air passengers of the possible disruptions. “Passengers travelling to and from Delhi between 19 & 26 Jan 2025, are requested to allow themselves more time and check the status of their flights before heading to the airport, due to Republic Day restrictions. SpiceJet also announced that due to Republic Day celebrations, Delhi’s airspace will be closed from January 19 to 23, and on January 26, 2025, between 10:30 AM and 12:45 PM. Passengers should expect multiple security checks and screenings at the airport during this period. 

“Additionally, multiple checks and screenings will take place at the airport. Any change to the flight schedule shall be notified in advance via SMS/Email on the registered details. However, passengers are advised to report before time and keep a check on their flight status via https://book.spicejet.com/FlightStatus.aspx… to avoid last-minute hassle,” the airline said in a post.
