A blanket of thick fog shrouded the national capital and surrounding areas region, resulting in disrupting flight operations at Delhi International Airport on Tuesday.

Due to low visibility, several domestic and international flights have been delayed, the Flight Information Display Board (FIDB) at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport displayed. 

The delays have been reported from international flights from Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Dammam, and Phuket among others. Domestic operations too got hit due to dense fog and adverse weather conditions, Delhi Airport FIDB showed.

Notably in January, dense fog caused a serious decline in both general visibility and runway visual range visibility, leading to the disruption of air operations as the visibility falls below certain standards.

Delhi Airport issues passenger advisory  

Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information, the Airport Authorities mentioned on X.

While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT Ill compliant may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.

Dense fog engulfs parts of Delhi-NCR 

Several parts of the national capital witnessed dense fog conditions engulfing the city, increasing visibility woes, and causing inconvenience to commuters.

The India Meteorological Department said that shallow fog was experienced in isolated pockets of Delhi on Monday night. At Indira Gandhi International Airport, several flights were also delayed due to bad weather on Sunday.
