FA Airlines, based in Mumbai, is all set to take possession of regional carrier FlyBig, as per sources. The airline was formed in 2022 and its prime focus is on the aviation sector. On the contrary, FlyBig has a collection of four planes in total.
FA Airlines-FlyBig deal
According to a PTI report, the initial agreement related to the deal has been made, sources said. The FlyBig fleet will increase its number of aircraft by 20 after the completion of the deal.
The Managing Director of FA Airlines is Fauzia Arshi, an entrepreneur from the film industry.
Regional carriers in Indian aviation sector
In the Indian aviation sector, there are at least six regional carriers in running condition namely Zoom, Fly91, Alliance Air, FlyBig, and Indiaone Air. Whereas in terms of the number of scheduled domestic airlines, there are in total six of them-Spicejet, Aix Connect, Air India, Vistara, and Indigo.
Recently, the Airports Authority of India Chairman, Sanjeev Kumar anticipated that the Indian aviation market will grow exponentially and there will be a drastic increase in air passenger numbers by 2047.
India is one of the fastest-growing in the civil aviation sector as domestic air traffic is rapidly growing.
