Noida International Airport (NIA) is set to revolutionise transportation in the region with a comprehensive plan aimed at providing seamless connectivity for all kinds of travelers, from budget-conscious commuters to premium passengers.
Christoph Schnellmann, the CEO of NIA, spoke exclusively to Financialexpress.com about the airport’s strategic initiatives to ensure convenient commute to Delhi NCR, Noida and surrounding regions, making it a key transportation hub for the future.
“Connectivity is integral for an infrastructure like an airport,” Schnellmann said.
Noida Airport just 2 hours away from Taj Mahal
“Our strategic location adjacent to the Yamuna Expressway provides unparalleled road access to Delhi NCR, Noida, and key centers in Western Uttar Pradesh. This allows for convenient travel times – approximately 45 minutes to Noida, a mere 25 minutes to Greater Noida, and even a trip to the iconic Taj Mahal can be accomplished in just two hours,” Schnellmann added.
Ensuring affordable public transport options to Noida Airport
While private vehicle access is crucial for many passengers, Schnellmann emphasised that NIA is also working diligently to ensure public transport options that are both affordable and accessible.
“Beyond private vehicles, we’re actively partnering to ensure convenient and affordable public transport options, including bus and shuttle services connecting key locations,” the CEO said.
High-speed rail network near Noida Airport
NIA’s commitment to a sustainable and future-proof transportation network doesn’t stop at buses and shuttles. Schnellmann hinted at exciting future developments, including high-speed rail connections.
“Looking ahead, future high-speed rail connections between Delhi and Varanasi may include a stop adjacent to the airport, solidifying NIA’s position as a key transportation hub,” he further stated.
Connectivity to suit every budget
To cater to the diverse needs of passengers, NIA will offer a wide range of mobility services right from day one. From intercity and long-haul buses to shuttle services, taxis, and ride-sharing options, the airport will provide a solution for every budget. With this NIA has reinstated its commitment to make the upcoming airport accessible and convenient for everyone. Whether travellers are seeking budget commute or premium services, NIA has made plans for all.
In addition to public transport, the airport is investing heavily in infrastructure that will support increased traffic volumes, including ample parking facilities. “Our investment in supporting infrastructure, such as ample parking, will ensure a smooth and efficient passenger experience as traffic volumes increase,” Schnellmann said.
For those seeking premium services, NIA has partnered with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to introduce an innovative, all-electric taxi service. “Through our recent partnership with Mahindra Logistics Mobility, we will introduce a premium, all-electric taxi service with convenient pickup and drop-off points directly at the arrival and departure curbs,” Schnellmann explained.
