RSB group?s flagship company RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd is putting up Orissa?s first auto component project 40 km from Bhubaneswar. It has already put in place requisite infrastructure for a three-line forging unit and has also commissioned one of the forging lines. ?One of the forging lines has already started production; machinery for the other two forging lines are to arrive this year (2010-11); the casting plant is also to come during this year?, said RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd managing director S K Behera. Both the three-line forging unit as well as the casting unit would need an investment of Rs 50 crore each. The Rs 350-crore auto components project which is to come up in four years is targeted to develop nine villages. The company, which has three auto ancillary units in Jamshedpur and one each in Pune, Dharwad, Pantnagar and Chennai in the country, a unit in the US and will buy out a Belgian company?s Brussels-based arm into heavy fabrication work, is seeking Total Quality Management (TQM) certification for three of its units. RSB Transmission is also planning an IPO in the next financial year (2011-12). Speaking about the IPO, Behera said, ?We want to take this organization ahead steadily; there is no need to rush (for the IPO) and then see your share prices crash.”
