Global power systems manufacturer Rolls-Royce has won GAIL India?s $90 million-contract to supply four gas turbine packages for the latter?s 500 km-long Vijaipur-Dadri- Bawana pipeline project. The multinational had also bagged a $130-million contract for supply of six similar equipment to the public sector gas transporter?s Dahej-Vijaipur pipeline in 2008.
?This new order is for four Rolls-Royce RB211 packages, which will be used on the 500-km Vijaipur-Dadri Bawana Pipeline (VDPL) running from Vijaipur to Dadri, part of the larger VDPL project,? the company said in a statement. ?GAIL is investing aggressively to expand their natural gas pipeline network, and we are especially pleased that once again they have selected Rolls-Royce compression equipment for this major infrastructure project,? Tony Ruegger, executive VP for oil and gas business, was quoted as saying.
