I love my brand: It?s creative, innovative and vibrant. As a design company, Tata Elxsi provides great opportunities to innovate and work on next-generation products and services. Technology affects design in two ways ? it enables faster and more efficient designs, it also contributes to shorter product life due to obsolescence. It is a challenge to ensure that products are designed with the future consumer and technology in mind. It?s great to be able to point out products we have designed to our families and friends.

My job is great: Leading marketing, branding and communications activities provides me an opportunity to interact with customers and partners across the world, as well as with people from different backgrounds and functions. I am an engineer by education, and it has been an interesting journey to first pursue a career in design and then in marketing and branding.

Most inspirational moment: I led a project for the design of a new scooterette in 1999 for the Indian market. It was a great moment when the MD of the client we were working for approved the final proposed design and we got the vehicle design completed in just three months ? from the marketing brief to final engineering design.

The turning point in my career: When my proposal of starting a studio for industrial design was accepted by our CEO in 1999. I was also one of the core members who started the industrial design business in Tata Elxsi.

In my free time: I like to spend some quality time with my son. It?s fascinating to see the transformation of a child and actually see his or her personality grow.

Average number of job offers in a year: Well, I do get calls for all kinds of positions ranging from development to heading new companies.

First thing I do after entering the office: I check my mails first thing everyday, and then try to figure out the ones that are urgent and the ones that are important.
