Refusing to soften its stand, the CPI(M) politburo on Tuesday reiterated that the government ?should not proceed with operationalising? the Indo-US nuclear agreement.

Hours after a meeting between CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee, the politburo, in a clarification, said the Prime Minister?s statement in Parliament on Monday ?does not shed any new light on the India-US nuclear agreement?.

?He has reiterated his position and has not addressed the issues that we have raised,? the politburo said.
