In October, Russia was still India’s biggest crude oil supplier, but annual imports decreased by 8%. Iraq and Saudi Arabia were also top suppliers. However, there was a significant increase in imports from the US, reaching a high not seen since March 2021. But with new US sanctions on Russia, India’s import strategy is expected to shift to other countries.
