Aurobindo gets nod from Swissmedic

Drug maker Aurobindo Pharma on Wednesday said it has received approval from the Switzerland government for marketing Finasteride APL, a drug used for treating enlarged prostate in men.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange Aurobindo Pharma said it has received approval from Swissmedic, Government of Switzerland for the licence of Finasteride APL tablets.

Finasteride APL tablets are in the strength of 5mg and is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.

Swissmedic is an independent public institution of the Swiss government.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma were trading at Rs 190.50, up 0.26 per cent on the BSE.
