Donald Trump Jr, son of US President Donald Trump, arrived in India on Thursday and began his trip with a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra. This is his second visit to the country after 2018.
He toured the monument with his wife, Vanessa, admired its architecture, and took photos at the famous Diana Bench. Trump Jr landed in Agra earlier in the day and checked into the Kohinoor Suite at Hotel Amar Vilas, known for its clear, uninterrupted view of the Taj Mahal.
Before heading out for the monument, he had lunch at the hotel. Staff prepared Indian and Continental dishes, along with an “exclusive, personalised selection” made especially for him and his delegation.
In 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump visited Agra with his family. He and First Lady Melania Trump walked nearly a kilometre and a half around the Taj Mahal complex and posed for photographs.
In the visitor’s book, Trump wrote, “The building is a symbol of India’s rich culture.”
Why is Donald Trump jr visiting India?
Trump Jr’s India trip is centred around a lavish wedding scheduled for November 21 and 22 in Udaipur. The main ceremony will be held at Jag Mandir Palace on Lake Pichola, with other events at Manek Chowk in the City Palace complex.
He is part of a group of 126 guests from over 40 countries, showing how global the celebration is. Security across Udaipur has been tightened, with local authorities working closely with US agencies.
Justin Bieber and Jennifer Lopez to perform
The wedding celebrations are expected to be extremely grand, especially the musical night. Pop stars Justin Bieber and Jennifer Lopez are scheduled to perform.
A huge stage is being built on Jagmandir Island, equipped with advanced lighting, sound, and visuals, the kind used for global stadium concerts.
These performances are likely to attract major international attention, making the wedding much more than a private event.
