The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a statement, revealing what really happened to internet personality Khabane ‘Khaby’ Lame after Barron Trump‘s self-proclaimed best friend Bo Loudon bragged about getting him arrested on social media. On early Saturday morning (IST), X was taken over by claims that the biggest TikToker in the world had been taken into ICE custody over alleged “illegal alien” status.
The news gained traction with its credibility being questioned especially since the influencer has live in Italy since he was one. He was finally granted Italian citizenship in 2022.
Loudon, a lifelong Trump ally, was the first to claim that Lame had been arrested in Las Vegas and was being held at the Henderson Detention Centre. ICE has since confirmed that he was, in fact, detained.
ICE confirms Khaby Lame’s arrest
In a statement emailed to Men’s Journal, the agency revealed that the Senegal-born influencer who has an Italian citizenship was indeed detained over immigration violation allegations in Nevada. Despite the prior detention, the most-followed TikToker was granted “voluntary departure” from the US.
“The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6 at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada for immigration violations,” ICE stated in an email. The official response noted that Khaby entered America on April 30 and ended up overstaying his visa terms. “Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the US,” read the statement.
Barron Trump’s ‘best friend’ first broke the news
Far-right political activist Bo Loudon’s initial serious accusations against Khaby Lame were severely questioned. Via X, he insisted that the comic TikToker’s name could be found on the official ICE Locator website. Despite having offered an A-Number tied to his arrest, his claims appeared hollow at the time as the Senegalese-Italian content creator’s name could no longer be found on the ICE database.
“BREAKING: President Trump’s ICE just official arrested far-left TikToker, Khaby Lame, whom I reported as an illegal alien,” he tweeted on X. “According to the official DHS website, he’s currently being held at the Henderson Detention Center and is in ICE CUSTODY.”
In yet another X post, Loudon again identified Khaby as an “ILLEGAL ALIEN,” adding that he has “been working with the patriots at President Trump’s DHS to make this happen.” He further noted, “To verify, go to ICE’s Locator, type the A-number, and Senegal as country.”
