Turning Point USA has announced the appointment of Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board, following the tragic death of co-founder Charlie Kirk.
The board made the unanimous decision after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10 at Utah Valley University.
In a statement released by Turning Point USA stated, “Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests. And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA.”
Who is Erika Kirk?
Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s wife, got married to the conservative activist in Arizona in May 2021.
She graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science and International Relations, Liberty University with a Juris Master’s degree in 2017 and 2022 with a Doctorate in Christian Leadership.
Erika is the founder of the non-profit organisation ‘Everyday Heroes Like You’ and a real estate agent with The Corcoran Group in New York City.
In 2019, Kirk’s wife started an inspirational podcast called ‘Midweek Rise Up.’ She is the owner of the faith-based fashion brand PROCLAIM Streetwear.
Erika has also worked as an actress, casting director, and model. In addition, she has participated in beauty pageants, won Miss Arizona USA in 2012, and played collegiate basketball for Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Charlie Kirk’s memorial is set to take place on Sunday
A public memorial service will be held this Sunday, September 21, to honour Kirk’s legacy. The service will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and is expected to attract thousands of mourners, including several prominent political figures, including President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
