FBI names Tyler Robinson as the suspect in conservative commentator and Trump ally Charlie Kirk‘s murder.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox said that a family member of Tyler Robinson contacted a family friend, who subsequently reached out to a sheriff with information indicating that Robinson had confessed his involvement in the incident.

The shooter was reportedly arrested at 10PM on September 11.

A family member of the suspect, Tyler Robinson, told investigators that Robinson had become “more political” in recent years.

According to Cox, the family member recalled a conversation during a dinner held before September 10, in which Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would be visiting Utah Valley University.

Robinson expressed disapproval of Kirk and his viewpoints, and added that Kirk was “full of hate and spreading hate.”

Further investigation revealed messages between Robinson and an account named “Tyler” on the messaging app Discord.

The messages detailed plans to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leave it in a bush, and monitor the location where the rifle was placed.

The individual known as “Tyler” also mentioned changing outfits in the messages, with one exchange confirming that the weapon had been wrapped in a towel.

Investigators have been following these leads as part of their ongoing investigation into Robinson’s involvement in the incident.

According to Cox, investigators uncovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark towel, with a scope mount attached to it.

Further examination revealed inscriptions on several bullet casings, including one that read, “Notices, bulges.”

Cox also noted that there were markings on three unfired casings, with some of the inscriptions reading: “Hey fascist! Catch!”, “o bella ciao, bella ciao,” and “if you read this you are gay lmao.”

These findings are part of the ongoing investigation into Tyler Robinson’s involvement in the incident.

A video has now resurfaced on social media that shows Robinson reading a letter in which he is offered the Resident Presidential Scholarship from Utah State University. Cox confirmed that Robinson is not a student of Utah Valley University.

The suspect’s mother, Amber Robinson, works for Intermountain Support Coordination Services, a company contracted by the state of Utah to assist individuals with disabilities. This comes after President Donald Trump announced that the suspect of the Kirk’s shooting has been caught.

Earlier today, President Donald Trump said that the suspect involved in the shooting of Charlie Kirk is now in custody “with a high degree of certainty”.

Speaking on Fox & Friends, Trump revealed that the individual was turned in by someone “very close” to the suspect, though he declined to disclose their identity.

“I heard the suspect was in custody just five minutes before I walked in,” Trump stated. He praised local authorities for their quick response, noting, “Everybody worked together, and it all worked out.” The suspect in the killing of Charlie Kirk is “28 or 29” according to Trump.

As reported by NBC, a family member saw the photos of the suspect and reported him to police, two senior law enforcement officials say.

Trump also confirmed that further updates on the case would be provided later in the day.
