The Telugu community has once again been shaken by a heartbreaking news flash just days after two women from Telangana were killed in a road accident in California. As per multiple reports, software engineer Krishna Kishore and his wife, Asha, aka a Telugu NRI couple lost their lives in a fatal accident in the United States.
Telugu NRI couple die in US road accident: Report
The fatal crash reportedly took place in the early hours of Sunday, January 5 (US time), when an alleged drunk driver’s truck going in the wrong direction collided with the NRI couple’s vehicle. The couple is said to have been travelling with their two children at the time of the accident.
They reportedly ended up sustaining critical injuries in the accident. The kids are said to have been taken to a local hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Kishore and his wife were reportedly natives of Andhra Pradesh’s Palakollu in India.
Series of tragedies shroud Telugu community in US
The NRI couple’s death made heartbreaking news over a week after two women from Telangana’s Mahabubabad district were killed in a road accident in California. Meghana Rani Pullakhandam (25) and Bhavana Kadiyala (24) had reportedly completed their master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Dayton and were on the lookout for jobs.
Although living in Ohio, the childhood friends had travelled to California for friends’ trip. In late December, their car unexpected veered off the road at a curve on Alabama Hills Road and fell into a gorge, as per the Times of India.
That’s not all. Just this week, Nikitha Godishala, another Telugu woman (27) was found dead in her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in Columbia, Maryland. Her body was discovered days after he reported her missing, as per Howard County Police’s social media update.
On Sunday (US time), authorities confirmed that they had issued an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Arjun Sharma, who has now been charged with first and second-degree murder over suspicions that Godishala was stabbed to death. Sharma reportedly left the US for India on the same day, January 2, when he reportedly filed a missing-person report for her.
