American podcaster and far‑right commentator Nick Fuentes has sparked widespread outrage after a short video of him discussing the crisis in Venezuela went viral on X, drawing criticism from users and commentators alike.
The 10‑second clip, shared in the wake of US military action in Venezuela, showed Fuentes making aggressive and inflammatory statements about violence and control of the country’s natural resources.
What did Fuentes say?
In the clip, Fuentes, known for his extremist views and frequent involvement in controversial political discourse, said, “You don’t get our oil. Says f*g who? We will come in and we will. We will kill all of you. Our military will come in and wipe out your regime and we’ll take your oil.”

His words were interpreted by many as a chilling call for violent intervention aimed at seizing Venezuela’s vast oil reserves, a resource long at the centre of geopolitical interest.
This rhetoric surfaced shortly after US forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro during a major operation, which Washington said was intended to “stabilise” the country’s oil industry.
Following the uproar, Fuentes also commented on the ongoing US actions in Venezuela, describing the initial military strikes as “a solid operation,” while simultaneously warning that longer‑term US involvement could be a “massive over‑commitment.”
He also called for Venezuelan migrants to be sent back to their home country, further fuelling controversy.
Netizens react
Responses on X were swift and scathing. Many users blasted Fuentes for promoting violence and exploiting a sensitive international situation for shock value. One critic quipped that “Nick is on Venezuela drug supplied by Maduro,” while another accused him of hypocrisy for posing as a moral voice while advocating “murder and stealing.”
Others expressed disappointment or disbelief, saying they regretted ever taking his commentary seriously.
Nick’s past remarks
Fuentes has had a history of making racist and misogynistic remarks, including disparaging comments about racial minorities and women. He has at times suggested segregation was “better” and advocated views aligned with white nationalist ideology, and has used his platform to attack political figures with racist slurs and xenophobic language. These extreme positions have led major platforms, including YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Spotify, and others, to ban his content or accounts due to violations of hate‑speech policies, New York Post reported.
