In a startling revelation on ‘The Daily Beast Podcast,’ journalist and Trump’s biographer Michael Wolff claimed he received what may have been the final message from Jeffrey Epstein before his death in 2019. The convicted sex offender, who was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, reportedly sent Wolff a cryptic message through one of his lawyers on the night before his death.

“I believe that I got the last message from him before he died,” Trump‘s biographer Wolff told host Joanna Coles. Epstein asked Wolff in 2014 if he would be interested in writing a book about him, but the author declined. “His message to me hours before this happened was and it was just in response to me asking how he was and he said, ‘Still hanging around.’”

Epstein was found hanged in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019. The Department of Justice later ruled it a suicide, though doubts and conspiracy theories have swirled ever since.

Wolff: Epstein’s death still doesn’t add up

Despite the official ruling, Wolff expressed skepticism about both suicide and homicide theories. “He could not, as described, have killed himself,” he said. “As the circumstances presented, he could not have been murdered.” Asked what he believes really happened, Wolff admitted, “I don’t know.”

Epstein’s connections to high-profile figures, including Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump, have long sparked speculation that his death was part of a larger cover-up. Many believe Epstein may have held damaging information on powerful people.

Trump’s links to Epstein resurface amid DOJ memo

While campaigning, President Donald Trump vowed to release the so-called “Epstein files.” But a recent memo from the Department of Justice shut down speculation, stating there was no evidence Epstein kept a list of clients or that his death involved foul play.

The memo triggered backlash among Trump supporters, with many in the MAGA movement accusing the DOJ of a cover-up. Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, responded to Wolff’s claims by dismissing the journalist as a “lying sack of s–t,” calling his work fabricated and politically motivated.

Wolff also recalled that Steve Bannon, Trump’s 2016 campaign chief, once joked that Epstein was “the only person I was afraid of,” believing he was the one man who could expose Trump. Epstein himself once claimed to be close to Trump. In tapes obtained by The Daily Beast, he said, “I was Donald’s closest friend for 10 years.” Despite Trump’s public attempts to distance himself, he once told New York magazine in 2002, “I have known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy… He likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
