A new statue showing Donald Trump and the late Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has shocked people. The giant 12-foot sculpture appeared early Tuesday morning right outside the White House, and it has quickly become the talk of the town.

Why is the statue turning heads?

The statue shows Trump and Epstein in a weirdly cheerful pose, holding hands in a dancing position. It is made out of foam and wood but looks like it is made from metal, giving it the appearance of a traditional bronze statue.

The artwork is placed on the National Mall, which is just a short walk from the White House.

Along with the statue, there are three plaques with messages that are already stirring up controversy. The main plaque says, “In honor of Friendship Month, we celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Trump and his ‘closest friend’ Jeffrey Epstein.”

This is a direct reference to the close relationship Trump had with Epstein, which has been a point of tension for years, especially after Epstein’s arrest and death.

The two smaller plaques include quotes from a birthday card Trump supposedly sent Epstein back in 2003 when Epstein turned 50.

The quotes come from a letter that was recently made public after being released by the House Oversight Committee. One of the quotes reads, “Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything.”

This quote is believed to be part of a conversation between Trump and Epstein, now immortalised on the statue. The card also included a strange drawing of a naked woman’s body, which is featured as part of the sculpture.

Trump-Epstein relationship

Trump’s connection to Epstein has been a point of controversy for years. Even though Trump has publicly distanced himself from Epstein since the financier’s arrest, the two men were known to be friends back in the early 2000s, with Trump once saying he had a “great relationship” with Epstein.

But after Epstein was arrested for sex trafficking minors, that connection became much more problematic for Trump.

Whether the statue is meant as praise, criticism, or just as a conversation starter, it is certainly getting people to think about the ties between wealth, power, and scandal.

‘This is 10/10 trolling’

Netizens posted their opinion on the statue. A user noted, “We’re just commemorating history. It’s tradition.” Another added, “This level of trolling is 10/10.” “Anyone who thinks artists don’t contribute to society can kick rocks,” claimed a user. “
This is the America I know and love,” wrote another. “Is it truly so inspiring seeing people use their creativity and skills to protest,” added another user.
