CBS Saturday Morning is undergoing significant changes as co-hosts Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson prepare to present their final episode this weekend. This shake-up comes amid a broader restructuring of CBS News led by Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss and Network President Tom Cibrowski, who are overseeing a wave of layoffs that have already affected about 100 positions.

According to the New York Post, Weiss and Cibrowski decided that the show was “too expensive.” The program, which is broadcast out of New York, has seen its ratings slip 10% in total viewers to 1.9 million and 20% in the 25 to 54-year-old demo to 346,000 for the season.

Who else is departing?

Miller Jacobson and Executive Producer Brian Applegate are among those departing in this overhaul. The future of CBS Saturday Morning remains uncertain, with no official word on whether the show will be cancelled entirely or renewed under a new format.

However, reports have suggested that a plan is in place to continue the program in some capacity.

Adriana Diaz could headline show

Adriana Diaz, who had previously co-hosted CBS Mornings Plus, is expected to fill the hosting role starting November 29. While Diaz is regarded as a potential permanent anchor, reports indicated she may be reluctant to take on the position full-time.

With the current hosting line-up dissolving, names such as Elaine Quijano, Errol Barnett, Kelly O’Grady and Jericka Duncan have emerged as possible candidates to step in temporarily while the network finalises its plans.

Several high-profile figures, including anchors like John Dickerson and correspondents such as Janet Shamlian and Nancy Chen, have recently exited the network.

CBS Saturday Morning, a program known for its two-hour format featuring original reporting, breaking news, and profiles on arts and culture, has been a staple of the network’s weekend line-up since its inception. CBS Saturday Morning is aired from 7 am (ET) till 9 am (ET) every Saturday in the US.
