In a heartwarming gesture, US President Donald Trump has appointed a 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel as an honourary US Secret Service agent. DJ is from Texas, and has been bravely battling with brain cancer since he was diagnosed in 2018. Despite having just five months to live, DJ has broken the odds and continues to follow her dream of serving in law enforcement.

President Trump introduced DJ to the assembly, stating, ‘’He has always dreamed of becoming a police officer. But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer,’’ as stated by The New York Times. Trump highlighted DJ’s remarkable strength, noting that ‘’The doctors gave him five months at maximum to live. That was more than years ago.’’ He further praised the efforts of DJ and his father for making her dream a reality.

President Trump remarked, ‘’Tonight, DJ we are going to do you the biggest honour of them all. I am asking our new Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.’’ The announcement was welcomed with a standing ovation and everyone present in the chamber was chanting DJ! DJ’s father lifted his son as the audience celebrate this moment.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran presented DJ with the official badge.
