Far-right activist Laura Loomer took aim at Democrat Shri Thanedar this week — noting that his campaign was ‘deep in debt’ with a deficit of $730,313.81. The remarks came hours after the India-born lawmaker filed seven articles of impeachment against US President Donald Trump over recently implemented policies. Meanwhile the POTUS insisted that Thanedar was a “lunatic” and a “dumb guy” during a rally on Tuesday.

Loomer cited FEC records to note that his election campaign — called ‘Shri for Congress’ — was “deep in debt” with a deficit of -$730,313.81. She also reiterated that Thanedar had been born in India and was now “trying to impeach an US President”.

“This financial hole stems from a staggering -$1,208,286.58 payment recorded on February 28, 2025. According to the FEC filing, the reason for this negative payment is ‘INVESTMENT INCOME LOSS’. Curiously, Shri Thanedar himself is listed as the recipient of this negative payment. Is ‘Getting Trump’ a game reserved for those who grift the hardest?” she wrote on X.

Trump is no stranger to impeachment proceedings, having faced them on two separate occasions during his first term in office. There is a now possibility that he may become the first US President to be impeached thrice — especially if the Democratic Party flips control of the House in 2026.

“Here we go again. They want to impeach me, this lunatic This lunatic is up, actually, I had the television way down. And I said to our great first lady, listen, did I just hear I was being impeached again? We’re getting good at this though. They’ve gone totally crazy, these people. And you know what? They’ve totally lost their confidence. They can’t even tell a lunatic like this dumb guy that said it,” he said during a public appearance in Michigan.
