A Tesla crashed into a guardrail and burst into flames in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday, resulting in the death of four Indians from Gujarat, The Indian Express reported.
While two siblings from Godhra in the Panchmahal district, along with two others from Anand district, lost their lives, a 25-year-old woman traveling with them survived with burn injuries.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Ketaba Gohil (29), her brother Neelraj (25), and Jayrajsinh Sisodia (30), a resident of Borsad in Anand district. The identities of another man and the woman who survived the crash have not yet been determined.
Toronto-based CTV News reported that after the accident, two truck drivers stopped to assist the car’s occupants, breaking the windows in response to their cries for help. The report also stated that the woman who was rescued from the vehicle was able to walk and sit on the roadside. “However, the woman did not give any further information about the crash,” the report said.
The Indian Express reported that one of Gohli siblings’ relatives said their parents have not been able to come to terms with the loss. ““Their father, Sanjaysinh Gohil, is a retired bank employee. Ketaba had been residing in Toronto for the last five years, while Neelraj had moved in January this year to join his sister,” they said.
According to a relative, the group was returning from a birthday party when the accident occurred.
