US President Donald Trump is set to make an “investment announcement” at 1:30 pm ET (12:00 am IST, Tuesday), the White House confirmed. The announcement is a part of Trump’s daily schedule for the day. White House representatives have yet to comment on the specifics of the planned announcement.
The announcement comes a day after Trump’s social media post sparked a surge in cryptocurrency markets. On Sunday, he revealed that the US strategic reserve of digital assets, which was established by his January executive order, would include bitcoin, ether, XRP, solana and cardano. The revelation led to a spike in the market value of these assets.
More than an hour later, Trump reinforced his stance, saying that bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) would be central to the reserve.
