US President Donald Trump‘s plans of a military parade on his anniversary nears. Turning 79 on June 14, his birthday falls on the US Army’s 250th birthday. To commemorate this event, the White House confirmed on Friday about Trump’s intention to host the military parade in June.

The coincidence anticipates 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicle, 50 aircrafts as per Army spokesperson Heather Hagan. The parade will feature a fireworks display and a festival spanning the whole day on the National Mall. The military demonstration, musical performance and fitness competition will also be part of the 250th US Army anniversary as shared by Hagan.

As per Fox News, the White House also shared that the parade will be a gala of reenactors and equipment from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish-American War and both world wars will be on display. Additionally the Korean War, Vietname War, Gulf War mementoes will reinforce the “Global War on Terror” regime upheld by the US administration. Honouring the veterans of the war, this Parade was previously criticised by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Earlier proposed by Trump in his first time in office, the parade is set to take place shortly next month. Starting on June 14, the parade will begin from the Pentagon, cross the Arlington Memorial Bridge into DC.

Preparations of the 250 years of the US Army began in 2024, months before Trump’s second electoral victory. The celebration commemorates the historic moment when the Continental Congress formally approved the establishment of the Continental Army, marking a decisive step in uniting the colonies under a single military force to fight for independence against British rule. This ardent display of history, culture and military prowess marks a strategic move for the Trump administration and the current global-trade narrative.
