Located in the centre of Lucerne, Switzerland, The Jailhotel is a charming 3-star property. This former prison was built in 1862 and was converted into a prison hotel in 1999, the first in Switzerland. A total of 56 different rooms and suites are offered from original ‘Unplugged’ rooms where you have a bunk bed and more authentic prison experience, to the larger ‘Most Wanted’ rooms, and the largest theme suites of Prison Governor, Library, Barabas and Falling Water. The thick walls, solid doors and barred windows retain their original feel and as if you are sleeping in a converted cell.
