A trader from the United States made over $1 million in 10 days by using artificial intelligence. Yes, you read it right! The man, who put $400 in a financial services company, claims that in just a day, ChatGPT helped him double his money “faster than Kris Jenner can sign a new reality deal”. A few days later, he pits ChatGPT and Grok against each other, and was able to make, what he called, “Kardashian-level” cash.
He shared this on Reddit’s “ChatGPT” community with the title: “Watching ChatGPT, make me money while I’ll chill and crack a cold one!” Alongside, he shared a spreadsheet tagged as “educational purposes only”. It shows ChatGPT vs Grok returns per trade.
“Two weeks ago, I funded $400 over to Robinhood to see if ChatGPT could trade better than I. Day 1, boom, doubled my money faster than Kris Jenner can sign a new reality deal,” he wrote on Reddit.

In the next few lines, he shared that he used two AI chatbots to see “who’s the Alpha” when it comes to making money without having to think.
“By day 4, I was feeling spicy and decided to split my gains into two separate trades. Then I got this genius (or stupid) idea: let’s pit ChatGPT and Grok against each other in the ultimate AI showdown and see who’s the alpha when it comes to making me money without having to think,” he said, before revealing the prompt he gave: “I gave both of the AI bots a big fat list of nerdy data, and said, ‘Yo, filter through this mess and spit out trades that’ll turn my beer and BBQ budget into Kardashian-level cash.’”
When he learnt that he could actually give them screenshots, he did that, and after 10 days, he came to the conclusion that both chatbots have a one hundred per cent win rate.
“Then I even figured out that I can hand-feed them screenshots (of data) and upload spreadsheets, making sure they’re using only primo data. Fast-forward 10 trading days (two weeks): I’ve made 18 trades, closed out 17, and somehow these AI bros both have a flawless, 100% win rate.”
He further revealed, “ChatGPT has nailed 13, Grok has hit 5, and neither has let me down yet!” before adding that he would continue his “YOLO AI adventure” for the next six months.
Reddit reacts to man’s $1 million claim
Many on Reddit can’t wrap their heads around the trader’s $1 million claim. They think that the post is made-up, probably written by ChatGPT, and that nothing of this sort happened.
“This whole thread reads like a fever dream. Like, everybody is falling for it as if OP is the incarnation of Midas himself,” one Redditor said.
Another joined him: “Seriously, if it was this easy, everyone would’ve done it. This post is most likely a scam. No genuine venture can double your money in a day like what OP is claiming, AI or not.”
“Everyone’s a genius in a bull market,” said yet another Reddit user.
One thinks that people will now perform this in real life: “Exactly. And now people are going to see this, try it and… perform well if the market is up and badly if it’s down.”
Some even suggested that the trader should pit ChatGPT against Gemini or DeepSeek. To this, the trader said, “I’ve tried them all. I just figured I would stick with 2 for this experiment.” In another comment, he revealed, “ I’m just here to observe. When it does make a mistake, I want to see what and why. I can’t see what I don’t do!”
