An Indian-origin DC fan’s years-old tweet has suddenly amassed new-found fame, leading many to question if he’s “borderline genius” or simply a “time traveller.” As is often the case on the social networking sites, long-forgotten posts from a different time find new life after being found again. This week, a similar fate awaited a 2020 tweet with Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as its subjects.
The pair, though previously acclaimed for their TV careers, finally scored big screen shout-outs thanks to their one-of-a-kind onscreen chemistry while portraying their scene-stealing movie roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, affectionately known as ‘Clois’ together.
Indian-origin Superman fan’s David Corenswet-Rachel Brosnahan prediction goes viral
Early Monday, August 18 (IST), X, formerly Twitter, unexpectedly woke up to a post made by a DC fan, who goes by “@KunaliB” aka Kunal B on the SNS platform, in December 2020 attracting more eyeballs than ever. The years-old post caught the Indian-origin Superman fan predicting the leading cast of the beloved franchise’s 2020 reboot backed by new DC James Gunn well in advance.
“A #Superman reboot starring David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane,” Kunal B tweeted December 1, 2020. “Let it be linked to Matt Reeves franchise (not directly, just in the same universe).”
If you called David Corenswet after seeing Pearl in ’22 you were ahead of the curve, but predicting both actors in December 2020 is off the charts. https://t.co/nesjmrAeT0

Many chancing upon the tweet again in 2025 resorted to re-posting and sharing their thoughts on a prediction made years before the official casting news confirmed Corenswet and Brosnahan as leads of the James Gunn era of the DC Universe. The former Twitter forecast first emerged on the platform nearly three years before DC Studios formally revealed who’d be playing the highly coveted ‘Clois.’
While rumours and speculations continued blowing up, official word only came out late June, when Gunn’s project was still titled “Superman: Legacy.” What’s even more mind-boggling is that Kunal’s post was shared even before the Guardians of the Galaxy director was hired to lead the new DC Studios alongside his longtime producer Peter Safran. This major shakeup was set in stone in November 2022.
Bro predicted this 2 years before James Gunn was even hired as the head of DC Studios 😨 https://t.co/AwuVzx5vEb pic.twitter.com/zyI9suB54q

“If you called David Corenswet after seeing Pearl in ’22 you were ahead of the curve, but predicting both actor in December 2020 is off the charts,” another user quote-posted the old tweet.
Netizens react to year-old Superman prediction resurfacing
Corenswet, a Juilliard School graduate, has been a long-stay in the TV circuit. For the unversed, he and his co-star Rachel Brosnahan both share credits for the hit series House of Cards. However, the Clark Kent star had a severely minor role as a guest star in the thriller. He eventually went on take on a significant support cast role in the 2020 American period horror film Pearl starring Mia Goth. That same year, he also gained prominence for starring alongside Riverdale star Lili Reinhart in the Netflix film Look Both Ways.

Mind you, both these movie roles took precedence in 2022, while the Indian-origin fan predicted David’s Superman casting way back in 2020. That year, he stole TV spotlight by landing his breakout gig in the Netflix series Hollywood. As you can see, the global OTT brand’s connection with the actor goes deep, as he was also a big presence in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix show The Politician, which first released in 2019 and continued its run in 2020 with the second season premiere.
Rachel Brosnahan, on the other hand, is none other than The Marvelous Mrs Maisel herself. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Amazon Prime Video series began its journey in 2017, with the fifth and final season concluding its run in May 2023. It doesn’t hurt to note the time frame of both Rachel and David’s TV releases – especially Mrs Maisel and Hollywood – ongoing in 2020, a time when the world was majorly reeling from the Covid-19 pandemic.
David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan became favourite TV stars during Covid-19
The coronavirus essentially pushed everyone into lockdown, with the global audiences left with no choice but to stay at homes. At the time, binge-watching particularly gained prominence as a favourite hobby, presumably leading one too many TV lovers to the shows in question.
From the fact they started the manifestation back in 2016 to fancasting in 2020 onwards, to the numerous times there was Superman references in whatever David was in. It was just meant to be. He was just born to be Superman!! https://t.co/yoZ5VI5kEf pic.twitter.com/DW3spLXHqy

And so, the other person re-sharing the 2020 tweet this week takes note of Corenswet’s performance in Hollywood, a show that has reignited interest among fans given the actor’s glorious big break in Gunn’s Superman.
Another user appeared to confirm the theory as they wrote, “I was watching Hollywood and Mrs. Maisel during the pandemic/lockdowns and I remember being like “who is this David Corenswet? he’d make a great Superman”. As for Mrs. Maisel I never thought of Lois specifically but I knew she’d be a great comicbook heroine.”
While the majority still couldn’t help but think of Kunal B as a “prophet,” a “time traveller,” or even DC’s very own supervillain “Eobard Thawne in disguise,” others recalled that Corenswet and Brosnahan emerged as popular fan-casting names across online forums at the time, especially among TV/OTT audiences who fell in love with them after finding their shows in the 2020s.
i truly wonder if people somehow have the ability to backdate tweets because this is just insane. another case of apollo giving a random internet user the gift of prophecy https://t.co/3QUCEs3WU7

Wicked deja vu
The resurfaced tweet about Superman casting mirrors a similar chance-prediction made for Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked. While director Jon M Chu (and the leading duo) confirmed the casting for the musical spectacle in November 2021, a user named Isaiah Biggs voiced their big hopes of wanting to see Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana as Galinda on the day Grande’s track “thank u, next” was released (February 2019).
The tweet resurfaced and went viral in November 2024, days after the movie was released last year.
