A man from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras village found himself at the center of an unbelievable financial mystery when his bank account suddenly reflected an astronomical balance; a 36-digit number far exceeding the net worth of the world’s richest man.
According to a report by NDTV, Ajit was left speechless when his account balance on April 25 showed Rs 1,00,13,56,00,00,01,39,54,21,00,23,56,00,00,01,39,542 — a figure no ordinary calculator could handle. The discovery came a day after two transactions of Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,400 were debited from his account.
Initially, Ajit’s wife admitted to feeling a fleeting moment of joy, imagining a life of unimaginable wealth. But the excitement quickly turned into anxiety as they feared to be a target of some fraudulent activity, the report added.
Upon contacting the bank, Ajit was informed it was a technical glitch linked to a branch in Jammu and Kashmir. Yet the error persisted, following which he approached the police. Authorities have now directed him to file a cybercrime complaint, the NDTV report stated.
With his account frozen and uncertainty looming, Ajit now fears becoming the victim of a larger fraud. On a lighter note, his ghost fortune dwarfs that of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, whose actual net worth stands at $389 billion. In fact, the amount reflecting in Ajit’s bank account is more than the net worth of several billionaires combined.
