PM Modi has landed in the US and all eyes are now on his whereabouts. His arrival was met with a lot of enthusiasm from the Indian-American residents chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Describing this as a “warm reception in the winter chill”, he shook hands with the Indian diaspora. While on his visit, the PM will be staying at the famous Blair House in Washington, which is also the world’s most exclusive hotel.
Prior to his arrival, the US flag at the Blair House was replaced by the Indian tricolour. While signifying the importance of the diplomatic visit, it also sheds light on the Indo-US relations.

- In the vast history it has seen, the Blair House has hosted many of the President’s guests. Presidents and Royalty like Queen Elizabeth II, Nikit Khrushchev and Margaret Thatcher among others. Indian Prime Ministers like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi have been guests too.
- Spanning across 70,000 square feet the property was purchased by the United States in 1942 under President Franklin Roosevelt.

PM Modi’s Visit
On the invitation of Donald Trump, PM Modi arrived in the US on Thursday as his first visit after Trump’s assuming power in his second term. The deliberations plan to unfold the collaboration on AI and civil nuclear energy. They are also expected to discuss the crackdown on illegal immigrants in the country.
While the US hosts the Indian delegation at Blair House, leaders from the BJP have wished him well and hope to find solutions to problems faced by people in different parts of the world.
