A 28-year-old student from Hyderabad, tragically lost his life in a road accident in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, on January 28. Hailing from the Khairatabad area of Hyderabad, Mohammed Wajid was an active member of the NRI Minority Congress Committee in the USA and had recently completed his master’s degree in Chicago.

The accident occurred when Wajid, driving a semi-truck, failed to put breaks at a stop sign at an intersection, resulting in a collision with a grain-hauling truck. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Wajid’s vehicle struck the rear of the grain truck, causing it to split in half. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, while the driver of the other truck, Timothy Wilkin, was unharmed.

The crash, which occurred at 12:42 am, also sparked a fire in the surrounding fields.

Telangana Congress Secretary Mohammed Shahabuddin expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss of the young man, remembering him as a dedicated leader and active member of the Youth Congress in Khairatabad Division and the NRI Minority Congress Committee in the USA. Shahabuddin highlighted that Wajid’s commitment and enthusiasm would be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Last month, 26-year-old Naga Sri Vandana Parimala, a student at the University of Memphis pursuing a Master of Science, tragically lost her life in a car accident in the United States. Originally from Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, where her family runs a business, she had relocated to the US in 2022 to further her education.

The incident took place in Memphis, Tennessee, just after midnight on Friday, when her car collided with another vehicle. Two other students, Pavan and Nikith, were injured in the crash.
