George Clooney wrote a lengthy opinion piece urging former president Joe Biden to step aside and “pass the torch” to another Democrat while acknowledging his years of service to the country. Author of “Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History”, Chris Whipple claimed that Clooney had a complete meltdown on a Morning Joe producer after co-host Mira Brzezinski hinted at Obama’s influence on his New York Times piece. The actor reportedly contacted a friend, a producer at MSNBC, and went ballistics over the “wild and baseless theory”.
According to Whipple, as per PageSix reports, Clooney was red with anger since there was no opposing voice on the show to challenge Brzezinski’s theory. Calling his article biased and influenced, the co-host said on-air, “This wasn’t George Clooney. … I think that Barack Obama has a lot of influence, and I think that there’s, there’s a lot there.”
While the producer’s was not revealed, reports suggest that Clooney kept cursing him out. Despite of that, the “producer friend” tried to level with him responding that “it’s not just a movie where you go script page to script page.”
During the 2024 US Presidential election, George Clooney was one of the overt Democrats who urged Biden to step out of the race against now US President Donald Trump. However, this move came just weeks after he ran a million dollar campaign for the candidate.
Furthermore, as per the “Uncharted” author, the actor made a second call to the producer hurling abuses at him explaining the insignificance of the “talk show on a cable channel”. The long-time supporter of Democrat Obama continued the fiery exchange just before his “friend” asked him to stop calling.
George Clooney is famously known to host fundraisers for Biden both in 2020 and 2024. But Biden’s failure to convince the voters in the debate led Clooney to pen down his opinion in New York Times.
