Following their intense battle in the final of Asia Cup 2025 which led to a series of controversies, the men’s team of India and Pakistan are expected to next clash against each other in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
As per the tournament’s schedule released earlier today, India’s and Pakistan’s high-profile T20 World Cup 2026 encounter is slated to take place on February 15 in Colombo. The 20-team tournament is scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8 across five venues in India and three stadiums in Sri Lanka.
All Ind vs Pak matches to be played in Sri Lanka?
As per an agreement between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), all India-Pakistan matches in ICC tournaments hosted by either country will take place at a neutral venue. For the 2026 T20 World Cup, all of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka.
The schedule and venue list for the T20 World Cup 2026 was released earlier today at an ICC event in Mumbai with JayShah, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in attendance. During the event, Jay Shah announced Rohit Sharma as the tournament’s official brand ambassador. Sharma accepted the role with gratitude.
This year’s edition will also feature teams like Canada, Italy, Nepal, the Netherlands, Namibia among top sides like India, England, Australia and New Zealand.
ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India’s schedule
Defending champions and co-hosts India will start their defence of the T20 World Cup title at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on the 7th February before taking on Namibia at New Delhi (on Feb 12).
India’s game against Namibia will be followed by their much anticipated battle against Pakistan at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium on February 15. India’s final group game against Netherlands will take place on 18th February at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
