T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Format
The two Super 8 groups had been pre-decided based on a seeding format designed for the top 8 teams in the rankings before the tournament. However, with the elimination of Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, their seeding spots will be taken by USA (A2), Afghanistan (C1), and either Bangladesh or the Netherlands (D2).
The seeding format was created to help travelling fans plan for potential matches in the latter stages of the tournament. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will proceed to the semi-finals.
