The Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians match has been shifted from Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) to Mumbai, followed by Operation Sindoor. The match was scheduled to take place on May 11 at the HPCA stadium.

The Indian armed forces launched a precise missile strike in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir during the early hours on Wednesday. The strike targeted nine terror targets, which include the core areas of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.

PBKS vs MI match shift

“The match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings shifted to Mumbai from Dharmshala, as the Airport of Dharmshala has been closed, and the match was scheduled on May 11,” according to ANI.

Additionally, the possibility of PBKS’ upcoming fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dharamshala being rescheduled, as the airlines have called off their flight operations in 11 cities. The cancellation of operation is across north, northwestern and central India till May 10.

“The match schedule between DC and PBKS tomorrow is also in danger as BCCI realises Dharamshala is near the border, and the board is in touch with the government and waiting to get clearance for the match,” according to ANI.

As Dharamshala is located near the India-Pakistan border, there might be a threat at this venue, so there is a chance that the Punjab-based franchise will play their remaining home matches at a different place.

Punjab Kings might also relocate their upcoming matches, which are to be held in Dharmashala, as the stadium is near the  India-Pakistan border, which could be subject to threat.

Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor, conducted by the Indian Armed Forces on Wednesday, resulted in successful precision strikes against nine terror targets – four inside Pakistan (Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya) and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

This coordinated operation, involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, targeted key leaders from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who were orchestrating terrorist activities against India. This represents India’s most profound military incursion into undisputed Pakistani territory since the 1971 conflict and its most significant military action within Pakistan in over five decades.
