Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached the team’s camp in Chennai on Tuesday night. While fans are excited for the thrilling CSK vs RCB showdown, Dhoni’s cryptic post on Facebook has sparked intense speculations on his role in the upcoming season of IPL. Deepak Chahar, the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder, has now revealed whether Dhoni will retire after this season or not. Talking to Akash Chopra for a YouTube channel interview, Chahar clearly said that Dhoni is going to play this season. About retirement, Chahar said that Dhoni may decide on this after the end of IPL 17.

Chahar went on to say that Dhoni is still in good form and last year’s magnificent shots and the net practice sessions show that he has got a lot of cricket left in him.

Last year after winning the IPL trophy for the record fifth time, Dhoni had said, “The easy thing would be for me to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. A lot depends on the body, I have six-seven months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it’s not easy for me, but that’s a gift.”

For the record, the CSK skipper scored 104 runs in eight matches with a stunning strike rate of 182.46. The right-hand batsman has smashed 5,000 runs in the IPL tournament so far.
