But defending champions Chennai Super Kings made a turnaround and bowlers Mustafizur and Deepak Chahar got three wickets – Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell!
From 78/5, Royal Challengers Bengaluru went 173/5 thanks to crucial sixth wicket partnership between Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat. The 95 runs partnership came from just 57 balls. For CSK, Mustafizur Rahman took four key wickets. Meanwhile, Kohli became first player to surpass 12,000 runs in the history of IPL. However, in his first competitive game in over 60 days, Kohli managed just 21 runs off 20 balls.

‘Fizz,’ as he is affectionately known in the cricketing world, wouldn’t have secured a spot in the starting eleven had Matheesha Pathirana been available for the ‘Yellow Brigade.’ Introduced during the Powerplay to halt a charging Faf du Plessis (35 off 23), Mustafizur adapted to the pitch’s pace, avoiding full deliveries and opting for lengths between 7-8 meters to generate ample bounce and secure a couple of dismissals.
Earlier in the evening, the MA Chidambaram Stadium witnessed an electrifying performance by Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and AR ‘Mozart of Madras’ Rahman.
