Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday (April 1) secured their third consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 by thrashing Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets.
RR’s 22-year-old Riyan Parag cemented his stellar season with a remarkable 54 (39) runs comprising five fours and three sixes, propelling Rajasthan Royals to a comfortable total of 127/4 in just 15.3 overs.
Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal (3/11) and Trent Boult (3/22) led a brilliant bowling performance, restricting Mumbai Indians to a modest total of 125/9. In response, Riyan Parag’s unbeaten knock took Rajasthan Royals to the top of the IPL points table.
RR’s all-around domination
Rajasthan dominated in every aspect of the game, on the back of exceptional bowling performances from Chahal, Boult, and Burger. Boult’s early three wickets in the powerplay, and Chahal’s important wickets of Pandya, Varma, and Coetzee took the game away from Mumbai.
Meanwhile, MI’s top scorer Hardik Pandya scored 34 in just 21 balls.
