The Chepauk crowd enjoyed a thrilling match as the Chennai Super Kings secured a dominant seven-wicket victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders. Just as Ruturaj Gaikwad was about to seal the win, MS Dhoni prepared to bat, but Ravindra Jadeja played a mischievous prank, almost denying fans the chance to see their beloved former skipper in action.

In a popular video, Jadeja is seen walking to bat after Dube’s dismissal. But then, he stops suddenly, letting Dhoni go out to bat first. The Chepauk Stadium crowd cheers as Dhoni steps onto the field.

It was later disclosed that Dhoni was the one who came up with the idea.

Tushar Deshpande reveals the secret

In a new video posted on the IPL website, CSK players discuss their recent victory over KKR by 7 wickets at home. Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande disclosed that it was Dhoni who instructed Jadeja to carry out that prank.

Dhoni told Jaddu, You go first, but I’ll be the one walking out to bat first, revealed Deshpande, recalling the moment. In the video, Jadeja, seated in the CSK dugout, peeks into the dressing room after Dube’s dismissal, while the former CSK captain gears up to bat. In the end, it’s Dhoni who walks out, and as usual, the crowd gets even more excited.

Jadeja stated in the video, “If Dhoni just gives them a glimpse, the audience will feel their ticket was worth it.”
