India vs England Highlights: Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna delivered a masterclass in pace bowling as India clinched a nail-biting 6-run win over England in a high-octane Test match.

Early Struggles and First-Innings Battle

After India were bowled out for 224 in their first innings, with Karun Nair’s fighting 57 and Sai Sudharsan’s 38 holding the innings together, England responded with 247. Zak Crawley’s quick 64 and Harry Brook’s 53 were the highlights, but Siraj’s 4 for 86 and Prasidh’s 4 for 62 ensured India stayed in the game.

India’s second innings turned the tide. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant 118 anchored the innings, while Akash Deep’s surprising 66 and Washington Sundar’s aggressive 53 lifted India to 396. Set a target of 374, England looked in control after centuries from Joe Root (105) and Harry Brook (111). At 301 for 3, the hosts seemed destined for victory.

Siraj and Prasidh Spark Collapse

However, Siraj’s relentless spell changed everything. He removed Root and then triggered a collapse, while Prasidh Krishna dismissed the lower order with precision. England went from 301 for 3 to 367 all out, with Siraj finishing with a match-winning 5 for 104 and Prasidh claiming 4 for 126.

Despite a strong fight from Root and Brook, England’s middle and lower order crumbled under sustained pressure. Akash Deep also chipped in with a key wicket, as India sealed a dramatic win in the 85th over.

With this victory, India showcased their formidable fast-bowling depth and mental toughness under pressure, making a strong statement in the series. For England, the defeat highlighted a golden opportunity lost, despite the heroics from their senior players.

India vs England LIVE Cricket Score: Siraj breaks silence on costly fielding blunders

Mohammed Siraj opened up about his costly fielding error that handed Harry Brook an unexpected lifeline on Day 4 of the final Test against England. Despite what many called a "game-changing" mistake, Siraj revealed that he woke up the next morning with an unshakable belief in himself—and ultimately delivered the match-winning performance for India.

At The Oval, Brook and Joe Root had begun to shift the momentum in England’s favor during their chase of 374, building pressure on the Indian bowlers. Prasidh Krishna provided a breakthrough opportunity when Brook miscued a pull shot off the very first ball of the 35th over. Siraj seemed perfectly placed under the ball, completed the catch, but then stepped back and brushed the boundary rope—turning a potential wicket into a six.

The pacer buried his face in his hands in disbelief, knowing the magnitude of the mistake. Brook, who was on 19 at the time, capitalized on the reprieve and went on to hammer a blistering 111 off 98 deliveries before eventually falling to Akash Deep, with Siraj safely holding onto the catch this time.

"To be honest, I didn't think that I would take the (Brook) catch and step on the rope. It was a match-changing moment. Yes, I always believed myself that I will do it for the team," Siraj told Sky Sports after the match.

"If I had taken that (Brook) catch properly, probably we may not have had to come today. But Brook played really well," he added during the post-match presentation.

Siraj, nicknamed ‘Miyaan Magic,’ bounced back with a fiery spell that dismantled England’s batting order. Relying on his ability to bowl in the right areas, he kept faith in himself throughout. He even credited a motivational moment from earlier in the day for fueling his performance.

"To be honest, it is so amazing. From day one to here, everyone fought so hard, so we are very happy. I just wanted to make sure I hit the right areas, the wickets would fall, and anything else would be a bonus. When I woke up, I believed I could do it. I took a screenshot of something on Google that said believe because I wanted to put it out there today," Siraj said, after being named Player of the Match.

India vs England LIVE Cricket Score: India ends the series on a high note

India take a celebratory lap around the ground as the crowd erupts, with the loudest cheers reserved for Mohammed Siraj. He soaks it all in, clutching the match ball tightly in one hand and a stump in the other as a keepsake. Siraj has just closed out one of India’s greatest Test victories.

The fiercely fought series ends 2-2, a result that will be remembered for its drama and countless what-ifs. The final day lasted less than 10 overs, yet it delivered enough action to define the entire series. And at the heart of it all was Siraj, stepping up as the undisputed leader of India’s attack.

He abandoned the wobble seam for swing, cranked up his pace to 90 mph, repeatedly beat the bat just as he had the day before, and this time, finished it off with wickets. Jamie Overton began the day with two boundaries, but Siraj struck back immediately. Chris Woakes, batting with a sling, did everything possible to keep Gus Atkinson on strike, running through pain and showing remarkable grit. But in the end, it was Siraj who had the final word—delivering a yorker for the ages to seal the match and etch his name into Indian cricket folklore.

India vs England LIVE Cricket Score: What KL rahul said

KL Rahul: Win means absolutely everything. I've played cricket for years. Won Champions Trophy, seen the team lift the world cup. Nothing compares to that. But so many questions about whether Test cricket stays or not, but both answered that question here with the way we've played. We weren't given a chance but we've fought in every game and get 2-2, might be a draw, but for Indian Test cricket, this will rank right at the top and this is where change begins. Indian Test team will win a lot many things and more series. Not having Rohit, Virat, Ashwin hit me two weeks in. Everyone was coming to me to ask about English conditions. Then it hit me I've stepped into a different role now. Gill's been phenomenal, led from the front. He's formed connections, he's done that. Tactically good, changes have gotten us wickets. He'll go on to become a good Test captain.

India vs England LIVE Cricket Score: What Siraj said after winning

Mohammed Siraj: “My only plan was to bowl in the right areas. I wasn’t worried about wickets or runs; I just wanted to keep it simple. (On the Brook catch) Honestly, I didn’t think I’d touch the boundary cushion when I took it—it was a match-changing moment. Brook was in T20 mode at that point, and we were behind in the game, but thank God it worked out. I’ve always believed I can turn a match around from any situation, and today proved that.”

Gambhir and Co. are definitely running the pacemen into the ground. They've bowled nearly 90% of the overs so far.
