The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) recently announced a 15-member squad for the Under-19 Men’s Cricket team for the upcoming ICC World Cup. Ayush Mhatre has been named as the captain for the Indian side. The tournament will kick off in Zimbabwe from January 15 to February 6, featuring 16 teams for a 50-over format.
The Indian team has been placed in Group B alongside New Zealand, Bangladesh, and the United States of America. India’s under-19 men’s cricket team has won the ICC championship title five times in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022. The young team is entering the World Cup after facing a defeat from Pakistan in the Final of the Asia Cup.
