Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in August increased by 10% to approximately Rs 1.75 lakh crore, according to data released by the government on Sunday.
In August 2023, GST collections were Rs 1.59 lakh crore, while the revenue for July 2024 was Rs 1.82 lakh crore.
Domestic GST revenue grew by 9.2% to about Rs 1.25 lakh crore in August 2024. Revenue from the import of goods rose by 12.1% to Rs 49,976 crore.
Refunds issued during the month totaled Rs 24,460 crore, a 38% increase compared to the same period last year.
After accounting for refunds, net GST revenue saw a 6.5% rise, reaching Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the month.
