Indian Navy recruitment 2017: The Indian Navy has announced 43 vacancies to fill the vacancies under Executive (Logistics and Law Cadres), Information Technology, Education in Short Service Commission (SSC) and Permanent Commission (PC) for July 2018 Course. Interested candidates apply by visiting joinindiannavy.gov.in. According to the notification, the course will be conducted at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. The last date to apply is 20-10-2017. The IHQ of MoD will shortlist applications and to based on percentage of marks obtained in BE/B. Tech. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted between December 2017 and March 2018. The SSC interview will be held at Bangaluru, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam. (IE)

IIT Madras set to get this world’s largest centre; this is what it will deal with: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras now hosts world’s largest combustion research centre. It will address the twin challenges of alternative energy and environmental protection afflicting an emerging economy such as India by focusing on effective utilisation of combustion as a means of thermo-chemical energy conversion. The National Centre for Combustion Research and Development (NCCRD), inaugurated on October 13, is supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology. A similar centre has been established at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc). With over 30 faculty members from six departments of IIT Madras working on this project, this is the largest grouping of academic combustion researchers, globally. The infrastructure facilities are also the largest for any combustion research centre in an academic setting, globally. The NCCRD has been set up at a cost of Rs 90 crore and will develop state-of-the-art capabilities in combustion research involving experts in the country. (PTI)
Yogi Adityanath to make massive changes in UP education system? Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is mulling ringing in massive changes to the state’s education system, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said on Saturday. The changes will completely transform the education scenario for student in Uttar Pradesh. Sharma, who was visiting Meerut’s Chaudhary Charan Singh University, said that the government has plans to introduce the NCERT pattern in examinations conducted by the UP Board to bring government school students on par with those in the CBSE -affiliated institutions. The Deputy Chief Minister added that Board would conduct examinations under the watch of CCTV cameras, and the dates for the same would be declared before Diwali. Sharma, who was a senior functionary in Uttar Pradesh BJP before becoming the CM, said that measures will be taken to curb cheating and the examinations would be wrapped up within a month. Maharashtra CET 2018 Syllabus: Maharashtra CET 2018 Syllabus: If you are preparing for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) examination, then here is an important notification that you cannot afford to miss. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has announced some changes in the exam syllabus and pattern. The changes will be implemented from the next year. The exam, which is conducted once in a year, grants admission to candidates in BE, BTech, BPharma and PharmD courses in the state. The examination pattern varies slightly with the course, a candidate wishes to seek admission in and till now, the exam syllabus was entirely based on class 12 syllabus of HSC Board (Maharashtra). Since there are no previous question papers to refer to get an idea of how the questions will be, there is unpredictability and nervousness among the students.
