1. PM Modi's cash in hand only Rs 4,700, total assets over Rs 1 cr: Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not seem to keep much cash in hand even as his total assets have gone up to Rs 1.41 crore — largely due to a residential property that has appreciated by more than 25 times since purchase over 13 years ago. According to the latest details of his assets disclosed by the Prime Minister's Office, Modi had total 'cash in hand' of just Rs 4,700 at the end of the last fiscal, down from Rs 38,700 disclosed mid-fiscal as on August 18, 2014. Jet Airways to start in-flight wireless streaming service: Jet Airways will introduce a new in-flight service for streaming of entertainment content directly to wi-fi enabled personal devices of the passengers. The airline would offer in-flight entertainment (IFE) streaming service in phases and enable passengers to stream their selection from the wide range of multilingual content available inboard. "The streaming service will be introduced on the Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft in the Jet Airways fleet starting from the second quarter of 2016," it said in a statement on Monday. Google parent tops Apple as world's most valuable company: Alphabet, Google's new parent company, topped Apple as the world's most valuable business in after-hours trading Monday after reporting surging earnings. Alphabet Inc. earned $4.9 billion in net income on revenue of $21.3 billion in the fourth quarter. If not for employee stock expenses and certain other items, Google said it would have earned $8.67 per share. Indian Railways revises norms on unreserved tickets for outstation trains: Railways has revised guidelines about validity of unreserved tickets for outstation trains running in non-suburban sections for distance up to 199km. No changes, however, have been made in the existing provisions for travel distance of 200km and beyond, said a statement issued by the Public Relation Department of the Western Railway. "As per the new guidelines to be implemented, with effect from March 1, 2016, for distances up to 199 km, the journey shall start from the originating station within three hours of time of issue of tickets or up to the departure of first train for the destination whichever is later," it said. 6. Snapdeal ties up with EESL to sell LED bulbs for Rs 99: Online retailer Snapdeal has joined hands with State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) for selling LED bulbs at Rs 99 per unit. EESL is implementing the Centre's Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP). "Under the campaign, Snapdeal will be selling LED bulbs at Rs 99 and enable the Ministry of Power to increase distribution of LED bulbs through its online marketplace to its customers spread across over 5,000 towns and cities of India," Snapdeal said in a statement. SpiceJet offers reimbursement option for cancellations, delays: To help flyers in times of disruptions, SpiceJet on Monday unveiled an option that would guarantee travel within a day for passengers whose flights have been cancelled or delayed for over 90 minutes. SpiceJet would reimburse the passenger for an alternate flight ticket on the airline of their choice in the same route as booked earlier, subject to certain conditions. Ola drivers go Uber way, remove company branding on vehicles: On the lines of online taxi hailing service Uber, which never advertises itself on its vehicles, many of the drivers of its competitor Ola are now removing the Ola brand stickers on their vehicles. This move could help Ola cab drivers to tag their vehicles with multiple taxi aggregators, operating at their convenience. The company, which has about 2.5 lakh vehicles on its platform, since its inception in 2011, put Ola stickers on the cabs and saw it as a major advertising push to boost its brand visibility.
