Torrent Pharma

Torrent Pharmaceuticals, the flagship entity of the Torrent Group, announced on Sunday its decision to acquire a controlling stake of 46.39% in JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals from global investment firm KKR. The transaction, one of the largest in the pharmaceutical sector, values JB Chemicals at Rs 25,689 crore on a fully diluted basis.

Tata Steel

Tata Steel disclosed that it has received a show cause-cum-demand notice from the tax department over an alleged irregular availment of input tax credit (ITC) amounting to over Rs 1,000 crore for the financial years 2018-19 to 2022-23.

Reliance Power

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power is planning to set up a 1,500-MW gas-based power project overseas and is actively participating in several international tenders for its development, reported PTI, citing sources.

Adani Group

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in a court filing to the US District Court in New York, has filed a status update detailing its ongoing efforts to serve legal documents to Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani in connection with a civil securities case filed last year. A PTI report mentioned that the summons and complaints pertaining to the case are yet to be served to Gautam Adani and his nephew. 

Reliance Industries

Reliance Jio added 2.7 million new users in the month of May, according to telecom subscriber data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai). The country’s second largest telco, Bharti Airte,l continued to see sluggish net additions at 275,621, though it added a higher number of customers sequentially (April: 170,658 subscribers).

Reliance Consumer Products, a subsidiary of the Reliance Group, will establish a Rs 1,622-crore mega beverage manufacturing facility at the Orvakallu Mega Industrial Hub in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district. The plant is expected to begin commercial production by December 2025.

Zen Technologies

Zen Technologies announced that it has received a patent for laser-based military training systems. In an exchange filing, the company announced that it has been granted the 54th Indian patent, titled “Single ILU Long Pass Filter”, in the military training systems.
