With back-to-back holidays lined up, the Indian stock market will be open for just three days next week, and that’s bound to keep traders and investors on their toes.

So, what’s closed, what’s open, and what should you watch out for? Let’s break it down.

Two market holidays next week

The Indian stock markets – NSE and BSE – will remain closed on Monday, April 14, on account of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and again on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday. These two non-trading days mean investors will only have three active trading sessions in the week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

How it affects trading across segments

Equity and Currency Markets:

Both the stock exchanges (NSE and BSE) and the currency derivatives segment will be fully closed on April 14 and April 18.

Commodity Markets (MCX):

On April 14 (Monday), morning trading will be suspended, but evening trading will resume from 5 PM.

On April 18 (Friday), the commodity markets will remain shut the entire day – both morning and evening sessions.
