Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) shares rose as much as 7.3% to an intra-day high of Rs 514.65 after the company emerged as the lowest bidder for two projects worth Rs 270 crore. The timeline to complete the project is 30 months.
The company has won the projects from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation. The first project is to construct seven elevated metro stations namely: Hingna Mount View, Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, APMC, Raipur, Hingna Bus Station, and Hingna. Another project consists of constructing three elevated metro stations.

RVNL Q1 performance
The company reported a 35% fall on year in consolidated net profit standing at Rs 224 crore in the first quarter of FY25 compared to Rs 343 crore in the same quarter the previous year. Its revenue from operations stood declined 27% on year to Rs 4,074 crore Vs Rs 5,572 crore in the same period a year ago.
Also, the company’s net profit was down 53% sequentially from Rs 478 crore reported in the preceding quarter. Its revenue from operations fell 39% on quarter against Rs 6,714 crore in the quarter ending March 2024.
RVNL Vs Nifty 50
The stock of RVNL has risen 5% in the past five trading days but has fallen almost 7% in the last one month. However, it has given a return of 91% in the last six months. It became a stock to give multi-bagger returns of 172% from year to date. The stock has given 191% in the last one year.
To compare, the benchmark index Nifty 50 has fallen 0.72% in the last five days and 2.5% in the last one month. However, it has risen almost 13% in the last six months and 14% from year to date. It gave a return of 25% in the last one year.
